Turner Industries Group, LLC. is seeking an Workforce Development Assistant to work with our Workforce Development team in the Pasadena, TX area. This role is responsible for providing general support for NCCER training and personnel including testing, certifications, and documentation.

Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities (Includes, but not limited to)

Perform administrative functions including filing, copying, binding reports, data entry, testing, and checking documentation, on the credentials of employees and potential employees. The candidate may answer, screen and direct telephone calls; may compile and prepare various reports and articles; and may coordinate and process general administrative work. Candidate will be required to make decisions about every day work processes. Employee will be asked to perform additional assignments as required by superiors.

Specifically the candidate will be asked to be extremely familiar with National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Policies and Procedures including but not limited to training, testing, inventory, craft certifications, crane certifications, and rigging certifications associated with the NCCER. Candidate will be able to answer or find answers to all questions regarding NCCER and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Candidate may be asked to become familiar with Turner's Personnel Policies and Procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, required paperwork, credentials, work requirements, processing flow, and federal and state guidelines regarding hiring. This knowledge will be used to assist in the personnel and I-9 auditing processes.

Qualification Standards

Knowledge of business machines, computers and/or menu driven applications. Candidate may be required to have knowledge of computer software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Windows, JD Edwards, and other software as needed.

2.) Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills; Candidate also must be able to multi-task and perform duties without constant supervision

Physical and Mental Involvement

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.


Employee may be required to do the following: reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; standing; sitting; walking; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.

Work Environment Factors


Location: Office environment and occasionally job sites. Some travel may be necessary.

Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways if asked to go to a job site.

Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately indoor climate. If reporting to a jobsite may be exposed to various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
