Turner Industries Group is looking for a self-motivated, team player to join our Equipment Division in the role of an IT Support Analyst.  This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA.  The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Dysel ELC, and application development for IOS platform.  This role necessitates a thorough understanding of the Dysel ELC application, the ability to leverage this knowledge to meet the internal business needs, and communicate effectively with our internal customers and other support departments. 

 

Functional Requirements

  • Always address users in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
  • Answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming voice and electronic customer requests
  • Work with department management to produce/maintain reports relevant to Equipment Groups business needs using Reports Now
  • Develop/maintain Power BI dashboard relevant to business needs of Equipment Group 
  • Operational Knowledge of JDEdwards E1 ERP
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query and Power Pivot

Act as system administrator for Dysel ELC (Microsoft Dynamics NAV based ERP)

  • Assist in upgrade of software by working with supplier and IT team
  • Ongoing administration of software as it relates to employee use and issues
  • Provide end user support and training across the equipment groups regional offices
  • Understand and facilitate integration/communication between Dysel ELC and JDEdwards EnterpriseOne (E1)

App Development (IOS specific)

  • Create IOS applications to expand departments use of technology to operate and manage our business.  Items for development could include: 
    • Rigging hardware tracking app
    • Fuel tracking app
    • Equipment inspection App
    • Job Safety Analysis (JSA) app

 

Qualification Standards

  • Work well with department leadership, co-workers, managers and supervisors, and end users
  • Technical writing is a plus to assist with product documentation, user training, and communication
  • Experience with implementing and managing web applications
  • Experience solving business problems with IT solutions
  • Experience scoping and creating reports in applications
  • Advanced understanding of databases
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with others across departments
  • Project management experience with software development and systems implementation
  • Some regional travel may be required
  • Drive to learn about equipment and rigging business to the extent required in order to offer insight related to how technology can further assist our team in managing an efficient/profitable business

 

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience

The IT Analyst typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related area and additionally at least 2 to 5 years of experience in the Information Technology field or in a related area.

This person must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and will perform a variety of complicated tasks as well as assisting clients and co-workers. 

Excellent verbal, and written skills are a plus.  

Ability to deal with face to face interactions with a wide variety of personalities. 

A positive attitude, familiarity with current information technology practices/standards, open mind and willingness to learn are essential.

a.)  Location: predominate home office or office environment; occasional industrial site visit

b.)  Barriers: remote work making it difficult to connect with people

c.)  Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately indoor climate; occasional jobsite meetings including various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances; potential exposure to outdoor elements on occasion.
