Turner Industries Group is looking for a Workforce Development Coordinator to join our Workforce Development Team in Corpus Christi, TX. The Workforce Development Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and administering company sponsored training programs and workforce development efforts.  This position will be responsible for the following functional items: 

  1. Must effectively manage and organize craft training efforts through close relationships with employees, site supervision, Associated Builders and Contractors and other industry or workforce related organizations within the region. The employee will be expected to participate in and/or chair various regional committees related to workforce development specific to industrial maintenance and construction.
  2. Will support all NCCER training and assessment program efforts for the region. Will be asked to complete necessary steps to become NCCER Master Trainer, Assessment Coordinator, Certified Crane Practical Examiner, and Rigger/Signalperson Practical Examiner.
  3. Will become familiar with and effectively use company database, Enterprise 1. This will include the ability to run training reports using the database, ReportsNow, and Cognos.
  4. Will assist safety department with select training classes.
  5. Will develop relationships with local high schools and technical colleges to convince the future workforce that industrial maintenance and construction is a viable career alternative.
  6. Attend high school, military and local community job fairs available in region.
  7. Will deliver NCCER crew leader training to the regional workforce as necessary.
  8. Will assist Personnel Manager and Training Director with projects as needed.
  9. Assist in developing training program objectives, course content, instructional materials, i.e., manuals, audio/visual slides, etc.
  10. Prepare and maintain records of participants' attendance, progress, test evaluations, completion of program, etc,
  11. Provide technical instruction to program participants when necessary.
  12. Prepare documentation on training program.
  13. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Position Requirements Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role 
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and multi-task as needed
  • Experience facilitating training and preparing training programs
