Turner Industries Group is looking for a Training/Application Analyst to join our IT Department.  This position will be located at our corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA.  The primary objective of the Training/Application Analyst is to educate employees of Turner Industries in utilizing the corporate standard applications such as MS Office, JD Edwards /E1 and Turner's proprietary applications. The Training/Application Analyst is also heavily involved in developing/maintaining online training

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Development and maintenance of user manuals, best practices and other classroom materials including electronic forms.
  • Providing instructor-led training throughout the organization on all levels of applications such as Excel and Word as well as Turner's proprietary applications such as WinTake, WinPCS, and JD Edwards conversion to EnterpriseOne.
  • Development and maintenance of online training and tests using Oracle's UPK (Universal Productivity Kit) tool and Captivate 9.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, Product Owners and developers to implement new feature or applications into the organization and to assure that applications fit the actual user and company needs.
  • Provide software technical support to all of our business users on Excel and other Microsoft Office products as well as Turner's proprietary applications in a timely and professional manner.

  • Could be involved in evaluating and testing computer software programs for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to established standards and to assure that the programs are fairly easy to use.
  • Clearly document defects and enhancement requests.
  • Travel to our regional offices.  (could account for up to 25%)

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related field.   Other degrees and experience will be considered based on IT related job experience or experience with Turner's custom applications.
  • Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgement. 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.  
  • Ability to deal with face to face interactions with a wide variety of personalities. 
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude, open mind and willingness to learn are essential.
