Turner Industries Group has openings for AWP Planner positions for a job site in the Houston, TX area. 

This position will work with our Project Planning team. The project planning team assists in achieving project objectives by monitoring job progress according to schedules and managing the project according to contract and internal procedures. The ideal candidate will:  

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Ensure each Installation Work Package, (IWP) is fully completed using the Construction Contractor's templates utilizing Work Package Server Software
  • To collaboratively work with the respective discipline Superintendents and/or General Foremen to get their input and "buy-in" of the final product before it is issued to the field
  • Complete mandatory training to ensure they completely understand their key role in the implementation of Advanced Work Planning, (AWP)
  • Monitor Engineer Work Package, (EWP) and Procurement Work Package, (PWP) discrimination schedule
  • Generate IWPs in Work Package Server Software
  • Input and Update PWPs in Work Package Server Software
  • Clear constraints for all IWPs
  • Manage IWP distribution, takebacks, preclearing and redistribution when applicable
  • Confirm IWP progress

Specific pre-employment work experience required and/or for this job:

  • Experience working as a craft journeyman or foreman in industrial construction or maintenance turnarounds is preferred
  • Computer literacy preferred, MS Office Applications

 

Additional Qualification Standards:

  • Must possess average communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Successfully complete post-employment offer drug and alcohol screen.
  • Signed acceptance of Company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
  • Post-employment offer physical evaluation.
  • Successfully complete Planner skills assessment test.
  • Signed acceptance of Company EEO and Workplace Harassment & Discrimination Policies.
  • Individual must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others at the workplace.
  • Will be required to engage in day or overnight travel

 

Functional Job Requirements: 

  • Basic computing skills with a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite of products (intermediate skill level).
  • Ability to perform a detailed labor & material estimate with the following:
    • Piping Plans
    • Piping Isometrics
    • Civil and Steel would be a plus
  • Comprehension of written specifications to all items listed above.
  • Comprehension of P&ID's a Plus
  • Ability learn how to perform data entry and produce standard reports in Turner Application Suite applications.
  • Ability to correlate work installed or in place to engineering drawings to assist to progress measurement.
